Summer Hiatus
To the Vault + Vine Community,
We are writing to let you know that we’ll be pausing operations from Sunday, July 19th through Sunday, August 16th. We will resume operations on Monday, August 17th.
To our Events clients and customers with pre-existing orders during this time, DON’T WORRY!
We’ll still be providing you with gorgeous local flowers.
Please note that orders can be placed online during our closure for pickup/delivery on or after 8/20.
In order to provide transparency and accountability to our stakeholders, I’m writing to share the thought process behind our choice to close for 4 weeks:
- Financial – We were fortunate to receive the PPP loan back in April, and now have depleted the funds. With mid-summer being the slowest season for us, our sales are not covering the cost of break-even for V+V. Rather than draining our financial reserves, we’ve chosen to temporarily close in order to preserve cash flow.
- Mental Health – Many of our staff who have worked through the pandemic are in deep need of rest, time away from work, and space to reflect on their personal lives & how their lives intersect with V+V. Pushing ourselves to keep up with revenue-generation when many of us are questioning our social conditioning under the Capitalist mindset feels incongruous.
- Restructuring – While these past months have been incredibly challenging for most, it is worth mentioning that they have also been a blessing in disguise. This is a rare opportunity to step back from the business and reflect on its mission, vision, and values. We’ll be taking this time together to recreate V+V as a workplace better aligned with the mission, vision, and values of all staff. Our hope is that this in turn will provide our community with an engaging, supportive, and interactive space.
Thank you so much for your continued support over these past months. We’ll see you in August!
In Gratitude,
The Vault + Vine team
I’ve missed stopping in your wonderful cafe on my way to work. Your time off is well-deserved and hope you are able to enjoy this period. I hope I will be able to enjoy your coffee, treats, and loving atmosphere in the not too distant future. 🙂
You are a truly honest business and I send you warm thoughts to return stronger! Cheers
Hello,
I’m planning a wedding in June 2022 – would you be able to talk about being our florist for the event?
Thanks,
Stephanie
